Review Process

Each piece of content goes through the following process before publication:

1. Research & Drafting — Content is researched using FDA labels, peer-reviewed literature, and established veterinary references.
2. Veterinary Review — A licensed veterinarian reviews the content for medical accuracy, appropriate safety warnings, and clinical relevance.
3. Quality Check — Content is checked for clarity, accessibility, and consistency with our editorial policy.
4. Publication & Monitoring — Published content is monitored for updates needed due to new research, FDA advisories, or reader feedback.

Our Reviewers

Our content is currently reviewed by our Licensed Veterinary Team, a group of practicing veterinarians with expertise across companion animal medicine, pharmacology, and emergency care.

We are in the process of expanding our public-facing review board. If you are a licensed veterinarian interested in contributing to our editorial review process, please contact us at reviewboard@pethealthpharmacy.com.

Qualifications

All reviewers on our board must hold:

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
• Current licensure in good standing in at least one US state or in the European Union
• Active clinical practice or recent clinical experience

Specialty board certification (DACVIM, DACVD, DACVECC, etc.) is preferred for content within specific subspecialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care.

Transparency

Every article on this site displays the date of its most recent veterinary review. We are committed to expanding reviewer attribution as our team grows, including individual reviewer names and credentials on the content they review.
